Donor Privacy Accountability for the Minnesota State Fair Foundation

During the course of the Minnesota State Fair Foundation’s fundraising efforts, certain donor information is collected to aid in tracking of contributions.  It is also used to provide follow-up and status reports on funds the donor has given.  In general, the following information is collected, though not all pieces are collected in all instances:

  • Name(s)
  • Mailing address(s)
  • Phone number(s)
  • Email address(s)
  • Birthdate
  • Payment information, which may include credit card information or information needed to deposit checks into our accounts.

Personally identifiable information is used for the purposes of donor acknowledgement, recognition, reporting, and communication about and fundraising in support of the Minnesota State Fair Foundation and Minnesota State Fair.

Payment information, including credit card and bank account numbers, are not kept in our system and are destroyed as soon as the payment has processed (immediately for credit card information, after posting to our account for checks.)

Donors are able to request that their personal information is not shared publicly by contacting us at 651-288-4327 or info@msffoundation.org, at which point a donation can be reported as “anonymous” on any donor recognition signage or in the Foundation’s annual reports.

The Minnesota State Fair Foundation does not sell, trade, or share donor’s private information with other organizations.
