FUTURE PLANS

The State Fair has many needs. The time to secure and restore the Minnesota State Fairgrounds is now – before stately historic buildings are lost and educational programs lose ground.

Estimates show that it will take millions of dollars over the next ten years to improve landmark buildings. These are the buildings with the most traffic; most history; and where the most prominent educational and agricultural programs are held.

The State Fairgrounds has 122 permanent structures, including 14 historic facilities most of which were built in the WPA years. Preserving these facilities, improving the 320-acre fairgrounds and bringing new educational experiences forward are the top priorities for the Foundation.
