Throughout the year the Minnesota State Fair Foundation hosts special events for donors and friends.
In addition, we invite donors and friends who support our mission o use the J.V. Bailey House. Our community meeting space is available for groups that advance the State Fair and repreent such areas as history, agriculture, horticulture, art, the environment, and education.  State Fair Story“My mother loved the fair and never lost her enthusiasm for it. Growing up, we would travel from the farm early in the morning. How exotic the smells, sounds and people! One of the biggest draws was the carousel. My mom had us watch the carousel to take in the music and speed, the technique for getting on and off, and of course to pick the horse wanted. 'When the carousel stops, jump on fast, get in the saddle, hold on tight and don't lose your ticket,' were her words of wisdom. It felt like such an accomplishment to actually be going round, up so high, and back off again too soon. The last fair my mom attended, she happily stepped up to the horse of her choice, we had to boost her up to the saddle, but she held on tight, didn't lose her ticket, and smiled broadly enjoying every moment.” - Melinda Ninefeldt |
