CURRENT PROJECTS

Fine Arts Center – Donate
The State Fair is home to Minnesota’s larges juried art show. Each year Minnesota art and artists connect with over 250,000 fair guests – it is an unparalleled forum for arts education, representing a broad spectrum of mediums and the finest of talents. The Fine Arts Center, constructed in 1907, is one of the oldest structures on the fairgrounds and is in need of preservation. Improving this historic structure promotes restoration of quality architecture, energy efficiencies and enhanced functionality.

Moo Booth – Donate
The Moo Booth and Milking Parlor, first created in 1984, annually connect over 250,000 State Fair guests with the farm-to-table experience. The exhibit is now in need of industry upgrades.

Through demonstrations, exhibits and a working milk processing plan, the improved Moo Booth will be a valuable agricultural education experience. The Moo Booth will tell the story of the origin of milk and where it goes once it leaves the farm and it will showcase dairy and beef farming production practices that are responsible, sustainable and “green”. The project will hold true to the original mission of the Moo Booth:

To educate and inform the public
about cattle and the farm-to-table process
through innovative activities and exhibits
in a fun, family-oriented atmosphere.

State Fair Family Archives – Donate
With more than 150 years of history, the Minnesota State Fair has generations of family stories and connections that are essential to our great Minnesota culture.

Many of the State Fair’s valuable records are not stored in a manner that promotes long-term preservation. The fair has a need to preserve the records and artifacts that document its unique history, and to make it accessible to the public year-round.

State Fair Grandstand Marquee – Donate
The historic Minnesota State Fair Grandstand Marquee needs an upgrade. Currently, the Marquee is lit with 5200 traditional light bulbs. Replacing these bulbs with LED light bulbs will greatly improve the efficiency of the Marquee and decrease the amount of carbon dioxide produced. Plus, donors will be able to see their lights shine over the fair for years to come.

Beautification of the State Fairgrounds – Donate
To millions of annual visitors, the trees on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds are truly a treasure. Many of the majestic trees and lush canopies that shade the fairgrounds have been lost in recent years to disease and extreme weather. The Foundation is active in preserving the “urban forest” on the fairgrounds.
